Our volunteers serve in a number of capacities such as stocking shelves, working in our community garden, delivering pantry meals, and more.
Email our director at [email protected] for how to get involved on a regular basis
Youth, ages 12 and up, are allowed to volunteer in our community garden with their families or groups. High schoolers can volunteer during the summer months and Spring Break. Our director sends out a Sign-Up Genius to local high schools for these opportunities.
Home delivery volunteers commit to regularly delivering nutritious groceries to our senior and homebound clients. This opportunity is a hands-on activity and is open to individuals who are at least 18 years old, can pass a background check and provide proof of auto insurance and a valid Nebraska driver’s license. As volunteers, you use the pantry van for delivering.
As a home delivery volunteer, you will work onsite at the distribution location and help prepare food for delivery. You will load boxes, so you must be able to lift up to 35 pounds. Volunteers will deliver to clients throughout Sarpy County and Ralston communities. You must follow a pre-established route, follow food safety and COVID-19 health guidance, and have excellent client service skills that include a desire to interact with older clients or clients with disabilities.
To volunteer, please fill out our volunteer delivery form.
